Noctura launches search for drummer, bass player

Hey guys! We have some exciting news. We were fortunate enough to recruit some amazing players (and friends of ours) to help out on drums and bass for our last few shows, which included Uproar Festival/X-Fest, opening for Fuel, and some crazy fun east coast gigs. In fact, you may still see them on stage with us again at some point in the future - but now that those shows have wrapped up and we look ahead to what's next, we're launching a search for a permanent drummer and bass player!

Several of you have contacted us over the years asking about open positions. This is really exciting for us because this will be the first time we've opened up a public search!

For both positions, we're looking for experienced players 21 and older with availability on evenings/weekends for rehearsals and performances. Drummers should have experience playing to a click.

If you are interested in this opportunity and you meet the above requirements, please send a message with information about yourself and playing samples (audio or video) to nocturamusic@gmail.com. If your setup is conducive, a playing sample using one of our tracks is ideal, but not required.

We'll check out every message we get, and will reply with further details and audition information for qualified candidates.

If you don't have samples or the ability to record and send audio or video, please just send us a message and we can work with you to set up an audition.

Thank you guys so much, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Music video & SXSW

We have an opportunity to shoot a music video in L.A. and perform at this year's South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, TX - but we need YOUR help to make it happen!

It's all part of Maurices Hometown Sound, and we need as many votes as we can get! Voting is easy and fast (you must be logged into Facebook to vote), and can be done on the Noctura voting page:

They accept one vote per day from each Facebook account, so please vote every day, now through 1/23 at midnight! The votes that have come in so far have managed to keep us in the top 5 (which RULES - thank you!), but as more competing artists start to reach out to their fans, it becomes harder and harder to stay near the top of the list.

If each person who reads this actually takes a few quick seconds to click and vote every day, it could make a huge difference and give us a real chance at winning!

Now, if you're already voting daily and want to help out even more, please:

  1. Join our Facebook event to remind yourself to vote every day between now and 1/23.
  2. Click the "Invite" button on the top right side of the FB event page and invite your friends to join the event and vote as well!
  3. Post a link to our voting page on your Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Tumblr, etc. encouraging your followers to help out! Feel free to use this shortened URL into your post: http://bit.ly/yCQfcs

Thank you guys so much for your help. Any successes we've met so far in our adventure have been because of you, and it truly means a lot to us.

Updates

Hey guys! Just a few updates for you:

First, as you all know, we rounded up a stellar group of guys earlier this year to help us transform our album into a live show. We're so excited to finally have our first live performance under our belts! Moving forward, Bubba has decided to pursue other musical endeavors, and we're grateful for all of his contributions and wish him the very best.

So, we'd like to introduce you all to Preston Nash! We're confident that Preston's extensive experience (Dope, Primer 55, Society 1) and keen musical sensibility will prove him to be an invaluable asset to Noctura. So please, show him some love!

Also, we are working on plans for our next show, as well as a special project we'll tell you more about soon - so stay tuned!

Lastly, we want to once again thank all of you for your overwhelming support for our debut album. We're absolutely thrilled to see all the positive feedback! It has made the last few years of hard work worth every single moment.

We <3 you all!

Album release announcement

Finally! The digital release date for Surrender the Sun is 6/21/11! You can pre-order both digital and physical copies of the album now by clicking here. When you pre-order the digital album, you'll automatically receive a download link via email at midnight (EST) on 6/21. If you order a physical album, your CD will ship on or around 6/27 (but you'll still get the digital download on 6/21).

For those of you who pre-order physical CDs, we're happy to sign them for you if you want - just be sure to choose that option during checkout.

Thank you all so much for being so patient! We're REALLY excited to finally be able to share all of this music with you.

<3

Full band lineup

As most of you know, Jeremy and I have been working for a loooong time writing the music for our album. We recently added Kris to the mix, and now we're stoked to let you know that we've brought on Myles B. (bass guitar) and Bubba Herndon (drums) to bring our live performances to life. These dudes are both killer musicians and we can't wait for you guys to come hear them tear it up at a show!

So please give them a warm welcome! :)

Sold out in 3 days?!

You guys are CRAZY! And we LOVE it!

We're absolutely floored by the response to our debut concert announcement and ticket orders. The show is still three months away and tickets sold out in under THREE DAYS. We've gotten messages from fans who are flying in from various parts of the country (and Canada!) and road tripping from the east coast, and we are so unbelievably grateful that so many of you want to share this special night with us. So thank you all - it's more than we could have imagined.

To those of you who are bummed about missing out on tickets - we really wish we had more! :( If any become available, we'll be sure to let everyone know. And to you kiddies under 21 - we're very sorry, but peer pressure forced us to cater to the boozers for this one. We're hopeful that we can do an all-ages show as well, but don't have anything in the works yet.

If you bought tickets through nocturamusic.com, you should have received a download code via email for our newest song, "Fade". (If you didn't get yours, please first check your spam, and then let us know if it's still missing.) If you didn't buy tickets but still want to hear the song, there's a super easy way to do it, no matter where you are. Our friends at X103 can play it on air if adequately incentivized and/or harassed. So ask them to play "Fade", and then listen (it's so 1995!). If you're in the U.S., they'll even give you a quick heads up before they play it - just text "Play Noctura" to 33103 and they'll send you a text when the song's about to come on. You can listen online from virtually anywhere in the world by clicking here, or you can listen on your smartphone through the iHeartRadio app (just search for WRZX in Indianapolis).

Thank you all again for being so freaking awesome. We'll do our best to put on a great show for you!

See you in June!

Noctura welcomes guitarist Kris Haughey

We’re very excited to announce the addition of a new band member, Kris Haughey. We started working with Kris on an isolated project and were quickly impressed with his playing style, writing sensibility, and perhaps most of all, his awesome attitude. Kris will be sharing guitar duties with Jeremy.

Regarding the rest of the band, we’ve been having a great time working with some additional musicians but are still in the process of determining a permanent lineup. For those of you who have indicated an interest - we haven’t forgotten about you, and you’ll be the first to know if/when we schedule auditions.

So everyone, please give Kris a warm welcome to the Noctura family!
